CV Tips
- CV's do not need to be just 2 pages; in fact most Technical CV's will need to be longer (but try and keep it to 4 pages maximum).
- Write your CV in reverse chronological order (start with today and work backwards).
- Ensure that the CV is relevant to the position you are applying for.
- Ensure that the Font Size is readable
(Arial Size 11 is popular).
- Keep the format simple, keeping all information relevant.
- Use a skills matrix to highlight your main technical skills including the number of years you have worked with each technology
- Use your personal statement to outline your objectives, technical skills and soft skills.
- Use spell check and ensure your CV has been proof read.
- Save the document as Rich Text Format.
- Highlight areas of responsibility and outline your key achievements.
- List your exact duties within each position, as the Job Title alone is not enough.
